I’m Gareth Hobbs, a registered psychologist, founder of Zoom Psychology, and a Preferred Provider to the Western Australia Police Force. Based in Albany, Western Australia, I provide psychological therapy to adults across Australia via secure telehealth.
Since becoming a registered psychologist in 2010, I’ve worked with people experiencing anxiety, trauma, relationship difficulties, workplace stress and major life transitions. My approach is collaborative, practical and evidence-informed, helping people develop effective strategies while gaining insight into the deeper patterns shaping their thoughts, emotions and relationships.
Alongside my clinical work, I provide professional oversight of the psychology content published by Zoom Psychology. The aim is to make psychological ideas accessible without oversimplifying them, with practical, thoughtful resources that help readers better understand themselves, their relationships and the challenges they face.
Outside of psychology, I’m a father. That experience has deepened my appreciation for the complexities of family life, separation and the emotional load many people carry quietly. I aim to create a space that feels calm, respectful and safe enough for genuine reflection and meaningful change.
